Vectobac^® WDG microbial insecticide comprises crystal proteins derived from the naturally occurring bacterium, Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis.

Vectobac^® WDG uses a unique strain that does not, like lesser products form spores. This reduces product viscosity, facilitating handling and eases any environmental concerns over introducing large numbers of viable bacterial spores into water bodies.

Vectobac^® WDG is an enviromentally benign insecticide whose active ingredient is naturally occurring, highly specific in activity and practically non-toxic to animals and man.

Vectobac^® WDG is highly selective to mosquito; black fly and mushroom fly larvae, with rapid action (about 24 hours), therefore simplifying performance monitoring. The risk of resistance development is very low with no cases being reported in over twenty years.

Vectobac^® WDG is the ideal material to be used in areas where chemical approaches are considered inappropriate due to risk of water contamination or hazard to non-target organisms

Areas of use:

Vectobac WDG^® can be applied to Simuliidae and Chironomidae breeding areas through conventional ground spraying equipment including compression sprayers and knapsack sprayers. It may also be applied undiluted or with minimal dilution through suitable ground or aerial ULV application equipment.
